EL SHADDAI is one of the seven Covenant Names through which God the Father, Creator of heaven and earth, revealed Himself to Israel. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He is the All-Powerful and Ever-Living God Who never changes. He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Heb 13:8). In Hebrew, EL SHADDAI means “The God Who is More Than Enough.” He is the All-Sufficient One. The Jerusalem Bible translates EL SHADDAI as “The Almighty God” (Gen 17:1/35:11).
